At the risk of sounding like my Dad.....

I've been hearing a LOT today about this spotty 'erbert who trolled our young olympian diver, Tom Daley yesterday. A HELL of a lot. It started on Twitter this morning, when someone posted that said spotty 'erbert had been arrested. Now, i'm aware this will get me a lot of flak for daring to say so, but wasn't this action bordering on the extreme?

I think so. in fact i am one of a few that do. Here's my point- YES what the little so and so said in reference to Tom's recently passed father was uncalled for, Tom had his say and people supported him in his disgust at the troll, and that was it, Tom from what i read then got on with his life and as i'm aware said no more on the matter. He ignored him.

Great commonsense from where i'm sitting. So where is the logic in arresting a stupid kid whose gob wrote cheques his brain had no chance in hell of cashing? (hang on, am i a troll for saying that? -hope not ) this is wasting valuable police time, from where i'm sitting . I think Twitter should go some way toward monitoring it's members - or at least keep an eye on those reported for trolling, then act accordingly and thats wherein Twitter's responsibility should lie

Granted i think this young man will have second thoughts about how he uses social networking to communicate with people after this arrest . I certainly hope so.

To be even -handed i could understand peoples anger about this situation, i'd be baying for blood if somebody spoke ill of my late parents on ANY social networking site, but at times it was starting to sound like a witch-hunt, yet while all this was going on i'm pretty sure Tom Daley had moved on to focus on the olympics and doing his father proud. I'm sure he will too.
